Our client in Larne are seeking a Welder / Metal Fabricator to join their team. The suitable candidate will have previous experience in Fabrication / MIG & MMA welding.
The job will be based in our clients metal fabrication workshop in Larne and will include on and off site work. Work will often be required to be done on board passenger and freight ferries. The position involves the fabrication of various metals including steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
Working hours: 19.5 hours per week Mon-Wed (8.30am - 4.45pm)
Pay rate: £14 per hour
Overtime will be paid outside of business working hours.
Job Duties include, but aren’t limited to:
- MIG, MMA and TIG welding of various metals (certification/qualification preferred)
- Drilling
- Punching
- Shearing
- Folding
- Metal fabrication inc. pipework
- Overtime when required with occasional weekend night shift a possibility
- Off site metal fabrication at customers locations throughout Northern Ireland and occasionally further afield if required
- Serving customers
- Use of hand tools and machinery
- Take responsibility for control of quality and inspection of your work and that of the team
Job Criteria:
- Minimum of 1 years Metal Fabrication experience
- Minimum 5 GCSE Grades C or above including Maths
- Experience in MIG and MMA welding, TIG welding experience would be beneficial
- To be able to work from your own initiative
- You should be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, high standard of workmanship.
- Good accuracy and an eye for detail required.
- Press brake operation would be an advantage.
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence would be an advantage.
- Any previous CAD knowledge and ability to read CAD drawings would be an advantage.
- Must be hard working and willing to increase knowledge and skills.
Preferred but not essential:
- driving license (over 21 years of age)
