We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Client based in Belfast.
The successful candidate will ensure that all facilities are maintained in optimum condition to meet required standards of safety, efficiency and reliability. They will be responsible for undertaking various planned and reactive maintenance tasks and will work as part of the maintenance team in a varied and fast paced environment.
Job Type: Full time, permanent
Working Hours: 12 hour shifts, rotational days and nights
Salary: Approx. £41,000 per annum
Job Duties:
- Complete planned repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with the Computerised, Maintenance, Monitoring system to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal operation of equipment to ensure minimal disruption.
- Complete breakdowns in accordance with the Computerised, Maintenance, Monitoring system reporting daily to ensure minimal disruption to production requirements.
- Ensure maintenance work backlogs are actively cleared with overtime working as necessary.
- Sourcing, identify and ordering spare parts when required to minimise associated downtime with specific repairs.
- Awareness of energy usage particularly when machine are idling and not producing to save/reduce energy consumption and thus reducing the carbon footprint and adherence to compliance with customer targets.
- Supervise contractors as required to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
- Train other stakeholders to develop Standard Operating Procedures, planned maintenance and information systems.
- Ensure compliance and maintain, up to date records for P.A.T tests, fixed wire tests, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire pumps, five value sets, break glass alarms, heat detectors, hoists, hot work permits, emergency light tests and asbestos surveys.
- Travel to Multi-site facility as requested to complete maintenance requirements.
- Carry out all maintenance work in compliance with Health and Safety, and statuary regulations to provide a safe environment for the employees.
- Monitor all aspects of internal Health and Safety relating to day to day operations and suggest improvements where applicable.
- Report all non-compliance of contractors as required to ensure Health and Safety and Hygiene compliance standards are met.
- Report all accidents, incidents and near misses as they arise using the factory forms with all the relevant information needed for investigation and report to your line manager.
Job Criteria:
- Hold a NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. (Electric bias preferred)
- Post qualification mechanical and electrical experience gained with a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Able to demonstrate experience of electrical and mechanical fault-finding / problem solving
- Able to read and understand electrical drawings
- Experience in pneumatics, inverters, servo drives & motors, Robotics, process wiring and safety controls
- Experience in fitment and set up of mechanical components, timing belts, spur & bevel gears, bearings and shaft alignment
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts patterns including rotating 12-hour shifts
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience of training and mentoring/coaching of team members would be advantageous to your application
- Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially excel
- Available to travel to multi-site locations
